Pyramid Electric Lofts

Shiftspace was approached by MM Partners, a developer in with deep ties to the Brewerytown neighborhood in Philadelphia, to design the lobby spaces in a rehabbed loft building in a former warehouse. The industrial space was abandoned for years and became a street art destination. The client was committed to preserving the graffiti where possible and incorporate it into as much of the renovation as possible. With this brief the studio sought to preserve the spirit of the artwork while incorporating the clean aesthetic of the apartments. By documenting the existing artwork and creating new compositions realized in cnc relief cuts into panels, Shiftspace was able to pay homage while looking forward to the future of the building.
